The GBA team has managed projects with budgets exceeding $20 million, so they understand that finding timely, creative solutions to any situation, while maintaining open communication with our clients, is essential to project success.
About Gerry Brown
Gerry Brown has spent his entire career in the hospitality industry. A native of Canada, Gerry has been involved in the hospitality industry since the late 1960's. His first hotel project as a purchasing agent was for a 221 room new development for an independent hotel owner/operator in Toronto. Gerry's success with that project led him to working as a purchasing manager for the 1,000 room Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto. He purchased all of the FF&E, OS&E, millwork, kitchen equipment, and laundry equipment working again directly for the owner/developer/operator of the property. In 1977 Gerry was hired as Vice President of Purchasing at Four Seasons Hotels, Inc. where he worked through 1984.
Gerry Brown & Associates (GBA) was established in Toronto in 1984. While running his successful procurement business in Canada, Gerry also operated an interior design firm from 1989 through 1995. During this time he completed the popular Chateau Whistler Hotel in British Columbia (now known as the The Fairmont Chateau Whistler) where many of the architectural and interior design features remain to this day. In 1992 he then started GBA as an Illinois registered company. Gerry now has dual citizenship in Canada and the United States.
A member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC), Gerry appreciates the numerous opportunities he has had to work in all aspects of the industry. He is proud that GBA has successfully served the hospitality industry for over 25 years.
